Monsoon will enter  Andaman on May 19

Since the last two to three days, unseasonal rain has been present across the state. Against this backdrop, the Meteorological Department has predicted that Zouthe West monsoon will enter Andaman and Nicobar Islands on May 19 and Kerala on June 1.

The intensity of unseasonal rain will subside after May 17 except Vidarbha. According to the information provided by the Meteorological Department, southwest monsoon is expected to hit the oceanic area of the country i.e. South Andaman and Nicobar Islands, South Andaman and Nicobar Islands on Saturday.

Generally, monsoon winds arrive in Andaman on average on 22nd May. Then within a week, around 1st June they arrive near the gateway to the country i.e. Kerala. But the entry of monsoon winds into Kerala depends on the movement of the Bay of Bengal. So now we are waiting for monsoon winds to enter Andaman, officials said.

IMD officials earlier onset over the Andamans does not means that the monsoon will arrive earlier than normal over Kerala.
