Pune: A distressing financial scam has come to light involving the deceitful appropriation of the selling price of 305 acres of land, leaving a cooperative agent and his associates out of their rightful commissions. The fraudulent activity transpired between January 2011 and April 2024 at Hotel Annapurna in Chinchwad.

Guruprasad Bilochanram Jaiswal, a 63-year-old estate agent hailing from Titwala, Taluka Kalyan, District Thane, lodged a police complaint against six individuals at Chinchwad police station. According to Jaiswal, the accused, including representatives of BPL Company and the land buyer, K. Vishwanath and Arvind Jain, perpetrated the fraud by withholding crucial information about the land transaction at Mauje Jambhul village in Maval taluka.

The plaintiff and his four accomplices, also estate agents, were left in the dark about the transaction, resulting in a loss of their rightful commission amounting to Rs 18 crore and 25 lakh. Despite demanding their dues for a decade, the accused threatened the agents with dire consequences.

In response, Jaiswal filed a formal complaint against Praveen Ramesh Salve, Ramesh Salve, Premchand Bafna, Sadiq Pasha, K Vishwanath, and Arvind Jain at Chinchwad police station. The accused have been booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including IPC 406, 409, 420, 120(b), and 506(2), and the investigation is underway under the supervision of Police Inspector Zinjurde.
